🌫️ Sahara Dust Update for Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹
Moderate levels of Sahara dust are currently affecting Trinidad & Tobago. While most people will only experience mild irritation, the dust can trigger more significant symptoms in those with asthma, allergies, COPD, heart disease, older adults, young children, and pregnant women.
Here are a few simple ways to protect yourself:
✔️ Limit prolonged outdoor activity when dust levels are elevated.
✔️ Keep windows and doors closed where practical.
✔️ Stay well hydrated.
✔️ If you have asthma or another chronic lung condition, continue taking your prescribed medications and keep your reliever inhaler nearby.
✔️ Consider wearing a well-fitting N95 mask if you must spend extended periods outdoors.
Seek medical attention if you develop severe shortness of breath, persistent wheezing, chest pain, or symptoms that are not improving.
Stay informed. Stay prepared. Stay healthy.
