Let’s clear up the viral “perfume cloud” trend with some actual medical science! 🧴👀
You’ve probably seen videos warning you that spraying perfume on your neck causes hormone disruption and thyroid issues, recommending you “walk into a mist” instead. Here’s what the evidence actually says:
1️⃣ Absorption works systemically, not locally: Yes, some fragrance formulations contain phthalates or synthetic musks that act as weak endocrine disruptors. However, these chemicals do not “soak directly into your thyroid” just because you spray the front of your neck. Once absorbed through the skin, they enter your bloodstream systemically.
2️⃣ Walking through a mist doesn’t save you: Inhaling airborne volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and micro-droplets allows chemicals to pass through your lungs and straight into systemic circulation anyway. Plus, you waste 80% of your bottle!
3️⃣ The Real Solution: If you’re concerned about cumulative exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs):
• Spray your clothing or outer garments instead of direct skin application.
• Look for phthalate-free, paraben-free, or transparently labeled fragrance brands.
• Rotate products to minimize daily cumulative exposure.
Save your expensive perfume—and don’t let social media fear-mongering dictate your routine! ✨

Part 3! If you’ve seen my feed lately, you know I’ve been stuck on this. Three posts, one vision. Why? Because the story of Pan-Africanism and Emancipation isn’t just history—it’s an ongoing movement, and it gets swept under the rug far too easily.
I made this 3-part series because honoring our past requires intentionality. To wrap it all up: The Legacy We Leave.
What are we building today that will echo for generations to come?
Watch until the end, and let me know your thoughts in the comments. 💬. Drop a ✊🏾 if you’ve been following the series! If not go check out my two previous post. Like, comment and share!

They chained the hands, but they couldn’t chain the rhythm. From the fires of Canboulay to the heartbeat of the drum, we walk in the power of those who dreamed us free. Happy Emancipation Day T&T! ✊🏿🇹🇹✨

You wouldn’t let a plumber perform your colonoscopy... so why are we letting random people on the internet prescribe our medical routines? 🩺. If you wouldn’t trust an unqualified person with a major medical procedure, don’t trust them with your daily health, supplements, or diagnoses just because they have a nice aesthetic and a microphone. Friendly reminder to check credentials before you check out their recommendations! 👇. Just because it worked for “them” doesn’t mean it’s safe for you. You wouldn’t hire a plumber to do a doctor’s job, so don’t treat social media like a walk-in clinic. Listen to the experts who have the degrees to back it up! 🎓👩‍⚕️
