Today, on Cancer Survivors Day, we honour the extraordinary individuals who have faced one of life's most difficult journeys.

Survivorship is not measured only in years. It is measured in courage during moments of fear, strength during uncertainty, and hope when the future feels unclear.

For many, the journey does not end when treatment ends. The physical, emotional and psychological impact of cancer can remain long after the last appointment. Yet survivors continue to move forward, rebuilding, adapting and finding new meaning in everyday moments.

Today, we celebrate every survivor—the victories, the setbacks, the milestones, and the resilience that carried you through.

Your story matters.
Your strength matters.
You matter.

Today was a long day! But this was the highlight of it!

Honoured to have the opportunity to spend my morning speaking with members of the police service about the importance of cancer screening and early detection.

In oncology, we often see how much outcomes can change when cancer is found early. Conversations like these matter—not just for awareness, but for encouraging people to take the time to look after their own health too.

And we’re not done yet—brachytherapy is still to come.

One of the most common fears I hear is:
“Why isn’t surgery being done?”
The truth is, surgery is only suitable for very early-stage cervical cancer. For most women, the most effective—and curative—approach is External beam radiation + Chemotherapy + Brachytherapy, all over a 6-7 week period.
This combination isn’t a compromise—it’s the standard of care with the goal of cure.
