Could your child have a hidden vision problem?

Sometimes, a child who struggles to see may look distracted, inattentive, or like they’re simply having trouble keeping up in class. But what if they’re actually having difficulty seeing?

Join us for our Live Discussion on Wednesday 12th August, 2026 at 6pm on Facebook Live, as we explore how vision issues can affect children at school, from learning and academic performance to confidence and behaviour.

Today, we celebrate the ophthalmologists who dedicate their knowledge, skill and care to helping people see better every day. 💙

Their work goes beyond treating eye conditions and restoring sight. It helps our patients maintain their independence, enjoy the moments that matter and experience a better quality of life.

On International Ophthalmologist Day, we’re proud to recognise all of the ophthalmologists at Trinidad Eye Hospital — including those not pictured — and thank them for the difference they continue to make in the lives of our patients.

Happy International Ophthalmologist Day! 💙🧿

We are incredibly proud of our doctors who represented Trinidad Eye Hospital at the recent Ophthalmological Society of the West Indies' OSWI regional ophthalmology meeting in Barbados.

Congratulations to Dr. Luces, who earned First Place in the Poster Competition, Dr. Abigail Affoo, who placed Second in the Resident Competition, and Dr. Vikash Badasee, who placed Third.

We also celebrate Dr. Ciara Ramnarine, Dr. Sareta Dubay, and every member of our academic team who contributed to an outstanding showing. With eight oral presentations, three poster presentations, and four video presentations, it's the largest academic contribution TEH has ever made at a regional meeting.

These achievements reflect our dedication and commitment to learning. As we continue to grow—research, education, and professional development will remain central to advancing the standard of eye care we provide in Trinidad and Tobago and across the Caribbean.

Congratulations to the entire team. You have made us proud!

Every child deserves the chance to see clearly.

In collaboration with the Save Eyes Everywhere Foundation (S.E.E Foundation) and the Massy Foundation MASSY GROUP, 48 students from Goodwood Secondary School in Tobago received free prescription glasses, helping them better engage in the classroom and reach their full potential.

Many children live with undiagnosed vision challenges, and the impact shows up every day in their focus, confidence, and performance at school. But something as simple as the right pair of glasses can make a life-changing difference.

At Trinidad Eye Hospital, we were proud to support this initiative through clinical screenings and by helping make corrective eyewear more accessible.
