Controversial opinion?
Please don't take your chances with the possible effects of poor oral health. I guarantee it's way more expensive. This also doesn't begin to touch the things like gum infections and tooth loss and the cost to repair.
Nevertheless, I do believe the dental community has a huge part to play in the perceived low value of the practice of dentistry, but we'll talk about that soon..

Your needs are unique to You. When we do an exam, we don't just look at which "tooth has a hole that needs to be filled." We ask about your medical history, previous dental experiences, current dental habits, and even social habits that can affect your overall and oral health.

All of this info combined allows us to determine a treatment plan that is specialized for you to obtain and maintain your optimal oral health.

The gentleman in this video may need:
1. More frequent professional cleanings
2. Recommendations for an electric toothbrush to aid in his oral care
3. Floss picks or plackers for more effective flossing since thread floss will be more difficult for him to coordinate and maneuver.
4. Specialized mouthwashes to help keep plaque levels lowered

After diligent education and practice with him, he Ilyas now shown remarkable improvement and an ability to maintain excellen oral hygiene at home on his own such that he is now back to the usual recall of every 6 months.

Keep in mind, though, that not every difference is this visible. Some medications cause dry mouths, which require different recommendations. Certain conditions can increase the bleeding of gums. Only a comprehensive dental examination helps us give you accurate and appropriate recommendations.
