Dr. Hayashida specializes in transcatheter heart valve therapies, including: TAVI, MTEER, TTEER, and TTVR, as well as other structural heart and coronary interventions. His research focuses on clinical outcomes of transcatheter heart valve therapies and interventions for structural heart disease.

1. ​Dr. Huan-Chiu Lin introduced a novel leaflet length measurement method for Mitral Valve-in-Ring procedures, significantly enhancing preoperative risk assessment and patient safety compared to traditional methods.
2. ​Chief Technologist Ching-Hsuan Hsu presented a systematic anatomical calcification severity scoring system for bicuspid aortic valves, providing clinicians with precise risk stratification for TAVR patient selection.

Advances in TAVR for Pure Native Aortic Regurgitation (AR)

​While Surgical Aortic Valve Replacement (SAVR) remains the gold standard for Pure Severe Aortic Regurgitation (AR), Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) has seen significant breakthroughs.

​The Technical Evolution
​Historically, TAVR for pure AR was challenging due to the absence of valvular calcification (lack of anchoring) and frequent aortic root dilation. However, the landscape has shifted:
*​Next-Gen Devices: The development of second-generation and specialized valve systems with active anchoring mechanisms has vastly improved stability and success rates.
*​Clinical Impact: These advancements offer a viable alternative for high-risk or inoperable patients, significantly improving symptoms and quality of life.

​Cheng Hsin Team Achievement
​At the recent China Valve Hangzhou conference, Vice President Yin Wei-Hsien represented the Cheng Hsin Valve Team to present the results of 40 pure AR cases.​The data demonstrated a 95% procedural success rate using TAVR in high-risk patients, showcasing the team's leading expertise in structural heart interventions.






​Current Guidelines
​Despite these advances, international guidelines continue to recommend Surgical Valve Replacement (SAVR) as the first-line treatment for low-risk patients who are suitable candidates for open surgery.
