【Taichung Veterans General Hospital Partners with Telecare Industry Association Taiwan to Provide 24/7 Comprehensive Healthcare for Global Overseas Taiwanese Businessmen and Women】
To build a more robust global health safety net for overseas Taiwanese entrepreneurs, Taichung Veterans General Hospital (TCVGH) has been collaborating with the ASIA TAIWANESE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE (ASTCC) since 2024 to establish an "Overseas Taiwanese Business Healthcare Mechanism."
On July 16, Dr. Yun-Ching Fu, Superintendent of TCVGH, representing the Telecare Industry Association Taiwan (TIAT), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ASTCC President Hsiu-Hsia Yu. Moving forward, both parties will leverage Taiwan’s top-tier smart healthcare capabilities to help safeguard the health of overseas Taiwanese businessmen and women, as well as their families, through around the clock coverage.
"TCVGH is Always by Your Side"
Dr. Yun-Ching Fu stated that overseas Taiwanese entrepreneurs face various health challenges while expanding their businesses abroad. TCVGH aims to provide the strongest support to these individuals and their families under the principle of "Overseas Taiwanese Businesses Abroad, TCVGH Remains Right by Your Side." By combining strengths with TIAT, TCVGH will continue to deliver Taiwan’s advanced medical services with zero time difference, 24/7, 365 days a year.
Breaking Geographical Barriers with Smart Medical Care
According to the International Medical Service Center of TCVGH, busy schedules often lead overseas entrepreneurs to overlook their health. TCVGH actively breaks geographic limitations by providing:
• Telemedicine & Video Consultation
• Medical Assistance upon Return to Taiwan
• International Healthcare Lectures
Case Study: Early Cancer Detection & Treatment
During an overseas health lecture hosted by TCVGH in the Philippines, a Taiwanese entrepreneur named Ms. Lin (pseudonym) was reminded to monitor her health. Arranged by TCVGH’s International Medical Service Center, Ms. Lin returned to Taiwan for an advanced precision health screening, which unexpectedly revealed an early-stage cancer lesion.
Although Ms. Lin had already gone back to the Philippines, the International Medical Service Center quickly facilitated her seamless return to Taiwan through a "Green Channel" (expedited care path). The TCVGH medical team subsequently performed surgery followed by both radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Today, Ms. Lin has fully recovered and since returned to her overseas career.
Expanding Global Reach through Cloud Healthcare
Over the past year, TCVGH’s international medical services have expanded to Taiwanese business networks across the United States, Canada and beyond. In response to digital healthcare trends, TCVGH is fully advancing telemedicine—extending care from physical hospital settings to the cloud in order to achieve seamless, cross-border health protection for Taiwanese citizens worldwide.
