KSI Charitable Eye Centre was pleased to welcome young boys from across Europe and Africa as part of the CoEJ & AFED Youth Camp 2026, accompanied by Sheikh Fazleabbas Kanji and Sheikh Miqdad Alidina.

The group toured the Centre, learned about our services and charitable mission, and even had the unique opportunity to witness cataract surgeries live. They gained a firsthand look at the work carried out by our dedicated team.

A meaningful visit that gave the youth a deeper appreciation of the importance of accessible eye care, service to humanity, and the impact KSICEC continues to make in the community. 👁️🤍

One admission. Double blessings.

For three years, 76-year-old Mr. Y lived with severe vision loss in both eyes.

With the support of his wife, he came to KSI, where Dr. Njau and the KSI team performed cataract surgery on both eyes during one admission : helping reduce travel costs, avoid repeated hospital visits, and support a faster recovery.

One week later, his vision was 6/6 in both eyes.

Today, Mr. Y can see clearly again, walk with confidence, help at home, and return to weaving baskets.

This is more than restored sight.
It is restored independence, dignity, and hope.

On 15th May, KSICEC marked Retinoblastoma Day by standing with children, parents, and caregivers in raising awareness of this rare childhood eye cancer.

Through educational talks, patient-friendly flyers, and advanced diagnostics, our team shared one powerful message: early detection can save sight and lives.

A day of care, hope, and commitment to giving the gift of sight.

Dr Rogers represented KSICEC at the Tanzania Ophthalmology Society Conference in Mbeya, gaining valuable knowledge and insights to help us continue strengthening our eye care services.

International Day of the Blind at KSICEC:

KSICEC proudly commemorated the International Day of the Blind with an interactive educational session led by our Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist, Dr. Mwende. The session focused on empowering patients with practical strategies to navigate the challenges of blindness and improve their quality of life. A lively Q&A followed, allowing participants to engage directly and share their experiences.
We’re deeply grateful for a generous donation of vibrant kitenge tote bags, which added a beautiful touch to the day and were warmly received by our patients.

The future is bright at KSI Charitable Eye Centre! 🌟

We are thrilled to introduce our newly installed B-Scan, which allows us to provide even better care for our patients. Mama Mwanaisha, a 74-year-old diagnosed with mature cataracts, can now look forward to her surgery with confidence, thanks to this advanced technology.
