On 12 August 2026, the NORA Project conducted a comprehensive capacity-building workshop at Huruma Hospital in Rombo District, Kilimanjaro Region, focusing on three vital areas of healthcare: Palliative Care, Clinical Breast Examination and Implementation Science.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Alex Mremi, Sr. Anna Massawe, Miss. Nagalal Mollel, Mr. Allan Mtenga and Dr. Nancy King’ori. The sessions provided an overview of the NORA Project’s mission and featured an insightful training session on the clinical diagnosis and management of breast cancer, with particular emphasis on clinical breast examination and early detection.
Participants, including doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals, also received specialized training in compassionate, high-quality palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses. The training emphasized a holistic approach to care that supports patients and their families throughout the illness journey and during bereavement.
Through targeted capacity building, the NORA Project continues to equip healthcare workers with essential skills for early breast cancer detection, quality palliative care and the effective implementation of evidence-based practices, ultimately contributing to improved patient care and outcomes.
