It's sad that many women have to abort their wanted pregnancies because of severe nausea and vomiting during pregnancy—Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG). Many health workers dismiss HG as mere morning sickness hence women don't receive optimal care needed or nothing at all. HG is treatable. This preventable suffering should not be normalised anymore.
It was a great opportunity to physically present HG care in Uganda at this global stage; International Collaboration for Hyperemesis Gravidarum in Bergen, Norway 🇳🇴 while learning from world's best experts, scientists and researchers on HG. This conference room had the highest concentration of HG experts per square metre anywhere on earth.
I learnt a lot from keynote speakers, presenters, attendees and patients; to mention but a few Marlena Fejzo Marc Vaudel Loïs van der Minnen Rebecca Painter Aimee Brecht-Doscher Ksenia Kuznetsova Hamilton Morrin Emily Branham, PhD Dr. Danielle Plummer, PharmD Rita Wanyenze Andrew Housholder Akiko Iwakuni Zainab N. Kimber MacGibbon, MS, RN Hilde Erdal Trovik Jone Clare Hughes
This fresh knowledge will benefit thousands of women and health workers in Uganda.
