At the beginning, the hospital belonged to the Church Missionary Society. High blood pressure often develops quietly, with few to no warning signs.

That’s why hypertension is known as the “silent killer".

This World Hypertension Day, we encourage you to take your health seriously by knowing your numbers, going for regular checkups and seeking medical advice early.

Early detection can help prevent serious complications like stroke, heart disease, and kidney failure.
Your health matters. Don’t wait for symptoms.

Fellowship as the Foundation for Service.

This evening, the Provisional Rotary Club of Medical Pioneers Mengo was deeply honored to host our District Governor, Christine Kyeyune.

During her visit, DG Christine met with our leadership team and members of the club to share a profound message on the "noble cause" of Rotary. She emphasized that successful mobilization begins with the strength of our internal bonds. Before we look outward, we must first build genuine fellowship, taking the time to understand and work with each other. When the foundation of a club is a reliable and united membership, every other objective falls naturally into place.

The DG further encouraged us to remain crystal clear on our objectives, specifically regarding our vision for the Hope Ward. This project, dedicated to supporting low-income patients, relies on a strong, committed membership to become a reality. We are grateful for her pledge of support from the broader Rotary structures as we move forward.

Together, we are building a reliable membership to serve those who need us most.

Some of the biggest threats to your eyesight aren’t always obvious.

Chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension, poor hand hygiene, and lack of protective gear can all quietly damage your eyes over time.

The good news? Many of these risks can be prevented with simple, everyday actions.
âś” Get screened for diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol
âś” Avoid touching your eyes with unclean hands
âś” Use protective gear when exposed to dust, chemicals, or risk of injury

Your eyes matter don’t wait for symptoms.

Consider having your eyes checked at least once a year.
