Today, we joined the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, and other key stakeholders, for a High-Level Policy Dialogue on Sustainable Financing for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), Family Planning (FP) and Primary Health Care (PHC) at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
The dialogue brought together senior government officials, development partners and health sector stakeholders to reflect on Uganda’s changing health financing landscape, including declining external assistance, and explore practical opportunities to strengthen domestic resource mobilisation, innovative financing, coordination and alignment of health investments with national priorities.
As Marie Stopes, we remain committed to supporting sustainable financing for SRH and Family Planning services and ensuring that people can access the quality, affordable and rights-based care they need.
Speaking at the dialogue, our Country Director, Dr. Peter Ddungu, called for a shift from commitments to action in advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health and Family Planning.
We look forward to translating the outcomes of this dialogue into practical policy recommendations that strengthen investment in SRH, Family Planning and Primary Health Care, while contributing to a more resilient health system for all.
