🦋 Give Like Dolly Day is coming September 25! 🦋

Dolly Parton believed in giving back and helping children dream bigger—and this year, we’re celebrating that spirit on September 25th (9-25) through Give Like Dolly Day! (Get it? 9-2-5??) 🤣

Right here in Abbeville County, 425 children receive a free book every month through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, funded by the Abbeville Area Medical Center Foundation! Since becoming a program partner, we have provided more than 16,400 books to more than 725 children.

Help us make an even bigger impact by donating directly to the Foundation by following this secure link: https://secure.qgiv.com/for/givelikedolly-imaginationlibraryfund

OR by donating to the Imagination Library and designating your gift to support the Abbeville program using this link: www.imaginationlibrary.com (click donate, then check the “I would like to designate this donation to a specific imagination library local program partner and select SC-Abbeville from the drop-down list)

💗 Thank you 💗 for helping us inspire a love of reading in even more children and families - every gift builds a community where children can grow up surrounded by the joy of books.

September is Sepsis Awareness Month, an opportunity to help save lives by raising awareness of this often-deadly condition. Sepsis is the body's extreme response to an infection and is a life-threatening medical emergency. It happens when an infection you already have triggers a chain reaction throughout your body.

Each year, about 1.7 million adults and over 18,000 children in America develop sepsis. Sepsis is also a leading cause of deaths in U.S. hospitals, though most cases start before a patient goes to the hospital. Almost any infection can lead to sepsis, and the mortality rate of sepsis increases by 8% for every hour that treatment is delayed. Take the time to learn the symptoms.

To learn about the signs of sepsis and how to prevent infections, visit https://www.cdc.gov/sepsis/about/index.html
