Another hit at Kids United yesterday!

We learned that God seeks us because we are valuable to Him. Just like the father welcomed his lost son home with love, God loves us and wants us close to Him. Every activity we did helped remind us that God seeks us because we matter to Him.

I thought it was interesting that in our game where we made an obstacle to lead our friends to the father everyone wanted to make it harder for their friends because it was more fun that way…How often do we make our relationship with Jesus more complicated than it has to be.

Discussion Questions:

1. How did the father show his son that he loved him?
2. How does it make you feel to know that God seeks you?

3. What did Jesus do when the disciples tried to keep the children away?
4. What does this story teach us about how Jesus feels about kids?
5. What do you think it means that God made you with worth?
6. What are some things God made special or unique about you?
7. Do you think your worth changes when you make a mistake or have a bad day? Why or why not?
8. How can knowing that you are important to God change the way you think about yourself?
9. How should we treat other people if we know that God made them with worth too?
10. What is one way our family can remind each other this week that we are valued by God?

Parents, we know you want to be one of the main discipling influences in your child’s life, but sometimes it’s hard to know where to start.

That’s why we created the Back to School Family Discipleship Kit. It’s a simple, practical way to help you talk about Jesus, read Scripture, and pray together at home without adding something complicated to your schedule.

Beginning Sunday, August 16 (this Sunday), pick up a FREE kit for each child at the Parent Resource Center in the stairwell.

Inside you’ll find simple tools you can use throughout the school year, including a family devotional, prayer dice, prayer bookmarks, and backpack tags.

You don’t have to make discipleship complicated. Start small, use the tools, and grow together.

Parents, the start of a new school year is a great opportunity to be intentional about discipleship at home!
Beginning Sunday, August 16th, Kids United families can pick up a FREE Back to School Family Discipleship Kit from the Parent Resource Center located in the stairwell.
Each kit includes a family devotional table talker, prayer dice, prayer bookmarks, and backpack tags—simple tools designed to help your family read Scripture, talk together, pray, and grow in Christ throughout the school year.
Place the devotional where your family regularly gathers, choose a time to work through it together, and attach the prayer tag to your child’s backpack as a reminder that Jesus is with them wherever they go.
