Good Friday morning Veterans,

Another week coming to an end, hope it has been well.

DAV 36 will be at the Abilene Gun Show (Convention Center) tomorrow 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Reminder, to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if you are outside. Please be safe in all you do. It is still hot outside and no rain on any forecast.

As we end another fast week, here are upcoming DAV 36 events next week.

Thursday Aug 13 at the Chapter:
- Coffee, Donuts, Conversation and Camaraderie. 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Gun Show at the Convention Center
Saturday Aug 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday Aug 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Remember, with this ongoing Texas Summer heat, if you will be outside a lot, to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, frequent breaks in shade.

Below information received today from Melissa Harcrow, Women Veterans Coordinator, West Texas Veterans Commission.

"Attention all women who have served in the military and are residing in Texas:

The Texas Veterans Commission Women Veterans Program is seeking your responses for the 2026 Women Veterans Report. This report is required by the Texas Legislature, including the Governor and Lieutenant Governor, every even numbered year. Legislators are provided with the current population of women veterans, projected growth, their current and unique needs, and recommendations on improving their quality of life."
