Just before Mother’s Day, the Labor & Delivery team at Jefferson Abington Hospital welcomed a record 117 babies from May 3 to May 9. 💗

With 24 births on both Tuesday and Thursday alone, the week far exceeded the hospital’s typical average of 13 births per day. Throughout the busy week, certified nurse-midwives, physicians and support teams worked together to provide compassionate care and support for every growing family.

Congratulations to all of the families who recently welcomed new arrivals and thank you to the teams who helped make these moments so special.

This , we are celebrating Mike Moore. With over 40 years in aviation, Mike Moore recently completed his 3,000th patient transport, a milestone reached by only a small number of pilots nationwide. 🚁

Mike is the lead pilot for JeffSTAT 2, which is based at Jefferson Lansdale Hospital and is home to the busiest aircraft in the country, helping support nearly 5,000 calls each year across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

JeffSTAT provides advanced life support and critical care transport for seriously ill and injured patients, helping get them to the care they need when every second counts.

As Mike and the JeffSTAT team explain, every mission depends on teamwork between pilots, clinicians, mechanics and communication specialists working together behind the scenes to safely transport patients throughout the region.

For 25 years, Safe Harbor has been a place where grieving children, teens and families find connection, understanding and support. At the heart of it all are volunteers who show up with compassion, creativity and care, helping others navigate some of life’s hardest moments.

As we look ahead to the next support group year, we’re welcoming new volunteers to be part of something that truly makes a difference. Training begins in September, with a one-year commitment supporting evening peer groups from October through May.

If you’ve ever felt called to help others, this is a place where your time and presence matter.

Stroke Awareness Month is about more than recognizing the signs. It’s understanding what happens next and how every step is connected.

At Jefferson Abington Hospital, one of the first comprehensive stroke centers in Pennsylvania, stroke care is built to move quickly from diagnosis to treatment, with advanced imaging, minimally invasive stroke interventions and full neurosurgical capabilities all in place.

Dr. Nikolaos Mouchtouris, Endovascular Neurosurgeon at the Vickie & Jack Farber Institute for Neuroscience, outlines how that care continues beyond the initial moment, including recovery, the factors that contribute to stroke and what prevention can look like moving forward.

At Jefferson Abington Hospital, the Krause family returned to the place that held them through some of their most uncertain days.

Alton was born at just 22 weeks and became the first baby to receive support from the JET ventilator, a specialized form of high-frequency ventilation designed for the smallest, most fragile newborns. As part of the Small Baby Program, this technology helps deliver gentle, rapid breaths to protect developing lungs while giving babies the support they need early on.

After 142 days in the Special Care Nursery, he went home in February surrounded by so much hope.

Coming back now looks different. It’s smiles, hugs and the chance to reconnect with the team who stood beside them every step of the way. For his mom, Kayla, an ICU nurse at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, it’s a moment that brings her world as a caregiver and a parent together in the most personal way.
