📣 Physician Announcement:

To all,

After 20 years, I will be leaving Abington Neurological Associates to start a new chapter.

I am thankful that you trusted me to care for you or your loved ones. I am especially grateful to those who helped or participated in clinical trials. We are now living in a better world thanks to these advances. Several of these trials came to fruition and are now helping people with Alzheimer's disease, strokes, and multiple sclerosis. I'm happy for those I helped.

My leave will be effective November 30, 2026. I am confident that your care will continue seamlessly with my colleagues. They, and I, are committed to providing continuity and make this transition as smooth as possible. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to call the office at 215-957-9250.

Best,
Dr. David Weisman

📣 Update on Pennsylvania Driving Guidelines for Patients with Seizures:

We want to share an important update regarding Pennsylvania driving regulations for individuals with seizure disorders.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has recently updated its guidelines, reducing the required seizure-free period before resuming driving from 6 months to 3 months.

What this means for you:

* Patients may be eligible to resume driving after being seizure-free for at least 3 months, with or without medication.

* Your treating provider must confirm that it is safe for you to return to driving.

* In some cases, your provider may recommend a longer restriction period if there are concerns about safety.

* Certain situations may qualify for exceptions based on your specific seizure pattern or medical history.

This change reflects current medical evidence and allows for a more individualized approach to driving safety, rather than a one-size-fits-all requirement.

If you have experienced a recent seizure or have questions about your ability to drive, please contact our office to discuss your specific situation. Your safety—and the safety of others—is our top priority.
