💚Congratulations to our 2026 Ralph Schrager Award recipient, Kerri Brown, RN of Jefferson Health - Abington!💚

🌟 Each year, the Ralph Schrager Award honors a medical professional who embodies the spirit of Today is a Good Day by providing compassionate care, honest guidance, unwavering support, and hope to NICU families during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

This year's recipient, Kerri Brown, RN, was nominated by Christine Tomes, whose grandson was born at just 22 weeks gestation. In her nomination, Christine shared how Kerri's extraordinary compassion and dedication made an immeasurable difference throughout their family's NICU journey.

🛁 From creating a joyful first bubble bath to making skin-to-skin contact possible when it seemed impossible, Kerri gave Christine's family precious moments they will cherish forever. She celebrated every milestone, comforted them through uncertainty, and cared not only for their grandson, but for every member of their family with kindness, patience, and love.

As Christine so beautifully wrote:
"She made us feel seen, heard, and supported. Her kindness, patience, encouragement, and unwavering commitment carried us through one of the hardest chapters of our lives."

It is our privilege to recognize Kerri Brown, RN as the 2026 Ralph Schrager Award recipient. 🏆 She will be honored at our Today is a Good Day Family Brunch on Sunday, November 8, where we'll celebrate the incredible impact she has made on countless NICU babies and families.

We would be lost without Luz Borges, who is an invaluable member of the SCN team. She was recently recognized with a BEE Award Nomination 🐝🏆 for her dedication to our unit and our patients. Luz helps keep the unit clean and organized and is always ready to jump in and lend a helping hand wherever she can. Thank you for all you do to keep our unit running, Luz! 💖
