Today we received a donation from "Play Proud". An organization founded right here in our backyard, Acton, Massachusetts. The founder, Thomas Quirk, is an Acton-Boxborough Regional High School senior. His mission is this: "We collect gently used trophies and awards and donate them to neurodivergent children so they can experience the pride and recognition that every child deserves. The inspiration for this project comes from my aunt, who is autistic and deaf. She is an incredibly talented artist, and watching her creativity and determination has shown me how important it is to celebrate the accomplishments of individuals of all abilities. I wanted to create a way for more children with autism and other neurodivergent conditions to feel recognized, valued, and proud of what they achieve."
We are looking forward to a continued partnership with Thomas and his sister, Maura, also a student an AB HS. Thanks for your donation "Play Proud"!
