I’ve encountered an issue with patients recently and I thought it was worth addressing. People come to me sometimes with hip pain that runs from their greater trochanter (the bony protuberance at the top of the lateral leg) running medially down the front of the thigh. This can mimic a bulging or herniated disc in the segments comprising the femoral nerve (L2, 3, & 4). But that would be a very rare occurrence (95% of lumbar herniated discs occur at L4/5 and L5/S1). What I have found is that it’s many times a muscle spasm in the hip flexors, which a myofascial release technique that I use can resolve in a few as 2 visits. If you’re experiencing this kind of pain, get in touch and let’s get rid of it. (214) 686-4166 [email protected]
