Adele is a creative and dreamer. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. A phoenix of sorts who rose above the tribulations of experiencing domestic violence at a young age. Focused on education, Adele survived the New York City Public School system. She continued her education that cumulated with a master's degree in elementary education. Adele worked in the inner-city schools of NYC for most of her career. A secondary career led to her working with special needs children and teens in the foster care system. Adele has two adult daughters and is widowed now for 8 years. She survived a bout of breast cancer and is now living carefree in remission. Adele has an orphan disease known as Parry-Romberg Syndrome. PRS is a progressive hemi-facial atrophy. Adele is the admin for the Adult Facial Difference Community on Facebook. Currently, there are over 500 members from all over the world. Her vision is to host annual retreats for young adults and adults with facial differences. We are saddened to learn of the passing of our beloved mentor and friend, 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞, 𝐂𝐌, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.⁣⁣
CCA and the facial difference community mourn the loss of our magnificent, storied, accomplished, kind, gentle, powerful, consistent, and loving advocate. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
David was so much more than an advocate. He was a true friend. A force of change and a place of calm. He was forever amplifying the voices of our community. ⁣⁣
He worked systematically and individually. For all of the ways he served, we are grateful. For all of the hearts he touched, we are better off.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
May we all endeavor to live like David: embracing warmth, wit, and authenticity in our own lives.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Our hearts are with his wife, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧, and his family at this time. ⁣⁣
