Take a few minutes to check where you store your Narcan! Narcan is best stored at room temperature and away from direct sunlight. While heat exposure can reduce effectiveness, it is still safe to use in an emergency.

πŸ”…High heat reminder: Check where you store your Narcan!

Extreme heat can reduce the effectiveness of Narcan over time, so be sure to store it in room temperatures when possible. You might consider keeping it in a backpack or bag that stays with you instead of keeping it in your car.

πŸ”₯If your Narcan has been exposed to heat, it is still SAFE TO USE during an emergency! It is not ruined or dangerous, however it may just be less effective. Always call 911 in any overdose emergency.

For public policy to be effective and worthwhile, it should achieve at least one of three fundamental criteria: improve patient care or experience, reduce costs, or eliminate red tape.

When evaluated against these critical benchmarks, Michigan’s proposed HB 6022 and the accompanying Mental Health Framework fall short on all counts. Instead of optimizing healthcare infrastructure, this legislation threatens to fragment a system that is currently meeting its core mission.

To protect Michigan patients and healthcare efficiency, we must oppose HB 6022.
