Diacriticals
Pali Momi Medical Center recognizes the use of diacritical markings of the (modern) Hawaiian language including the ʻokina [ʻ] or glottal stop and the kahakō [ō] or macron (e.g., in place names of Hawaiʻi such as Lānaʻi). However, you may notice these diacritical markings have been omitted throughout our social media accounts to ensure the best online experience for our visitors. Pali Momi Medical Center recognizes the importance of using these markings to preserve the language and culture of Hawaii and respectfully uses them in all communications beyond the online platform.

💜🌱 Making a difference for Hawaiʻi's keiki, one meal at a time.

Recently, employees and interns from Pali Momi Medical Center volunteered with KauKau 4 Keiki at Kahumana Farms, helping pack and distribute nutritious meals for children across Hawaiʻi. In collaboration with the Department of Education's Hawaiʻi Child Nutrition Program, Kaukau 4 Keiki helps ensure local keiki have access to healthy meals while school is out for the summer.

From assembling meal boxes to assisting with distribution logistics, our team was proud to give back alongside community partners working to address food insecurity and support local families.

Mahalo to everyone who volunteered their time, energy, and compassion to help care for our community beyond the hospital walls. Together, we're building a healthier Hawaiʻi for future generations. 💜🌈

Preparedness is a team effort. 💜

Pali Momi Medical Center recently joined hospitals across Hawai‘i in the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2026 exercise, participating in hands-on training designed to strengthen emergency response and disaster readiness.

Working alongside military, healthcare, and emergency response partners, team members practiced key processes including patient triage, patient transport, bed capacity management, and emergency operations through realistic large-scale emergency scenarios. Hawai‘i Pacific Health summer interns served as mock patients, helping create valuable training experiences for participating teams.

Exercises like RIMPAC help strengthen the communication, collaboration, and rapid-response skills that keep our medical centers prepared and ready to serve our communities.

Mahalo to all of the Pali Momi team members who participated in this important exercise.
