In the Reiki practice, we recite the "Gokai" (Reiki Principles) daily
We start with the invitation and then we chant
"Gyo DaKe Wa" (Just for today) followed by the first principle "Ikaruna" which means Anger Not
So together we are saying "Just for today, anger not"
Reiki practice reminds us to remain in the here and now.
To not react from a space of anger
When we angry, we are living in the past.
Angry about something that has already happened or what someone has done to us
When we find ourselves in anger, we can choose to sit with this principle.
It does not ask you to ignore your pain, suffering or anger
But it is asking you to sit with it and recognize what the anger is trying to show you
When we do not react in the feeling of the anger but learn to sit with it, we can find profound lessons within it
Deeper compassion for ourselves and for others
Peace,
