Community Medical Clinic of Aiken County Our mission is to provide compassionate and comprehensive free healthcare to our community. Patients are seen by a nurse practitioner or volunteer doctor.

The clinic provides free medical office visits and medications to the following chronic health conditions: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, COPD, thyroid conditions, diabetes and seizures. The clinic has a small staff of 6 and is heavily reliant on volunteers. We receive funding through United Way of Aiken County, churches, individuals, grants, foundations and fundraisers ("Hunt for Hope Treasure Hunt," "Trivia Night," and "Dinner with Friends").

During National Health Center Week, we are honored to recognize Dr. Katherine Hamlet for the compassionate dermatology care she provides to CMC patients each month.

Dr. Hamlet brings kindness, empathy, and resourcefulness into every appointment. She takes the time to talk through concerns, answer questions, and help patients better understand their skin health and available treatment options.

Her warmth and willingness to engage with each person make patients feel comfortable discussing concerns they may have been carrying for quite some time. Her knowledge is extensive, but it is the genuine kindness behind the care that makes her such a special part of CMC.

As part of National Health Center Week, we are recognizing Dr. Charles Pexa for his continued willingness to support CMC and our patients when acute-care needs arise.

Although Dr. Pexa now serves on an as-needed basis, his contributions remain an important part of our clinic’s story. His emergency medicine experience, resourcefulness, and thorough approach help ensure that patient concerns are carefully considered.

Dr. Pexa believes in fully exploring the available options before determining the best path forward. That curiosity and attention to detail have helped patients receive thoughtful care during times when they needed it most.

National Health Center Week is about recognizing the people who help make accessible, compassionate healthcare possible in our community.

Once a month, Dr. Gregory Eaves provides cardiology appointments for CMC patients living with chronic heart conditions. His attentive and empathetic approach helps patients feel supported while navigating health concerns that can often feel complicated or overwhelming.

Dr. Eaves does more than address a diagnosis. He helps patients better understand their heart health, their treatment, and the steps they can take to care for themselves between appointments.

Every Monday, LaMesha Farmer, APRN, brings an innovative, caring, and personable approach to our clinic. She takes the time to listen, answer questions, and ensure that each patient leaves their appointment feeling seen, heard, and cared for.

It is no surprise that she is one of our most requested providers. Her patients appreciate her warmth, her attention, and her ability to make even a serious appointment feel a little lighter with a well-timed laugh.
