Tanning is trending again - especially among Gen Z. Despite decades of education, only 25% of young adults say they are concerned about skin cancer, and many are prioritizing a tan over long-term health. As dermatology experts, we want to be clear:

• Every tan is a sign of skin damage
• Tanning beds can increase melanoma risk by up to 75%

If you want the look of a tan, choose safer alternatives like spray tans or sunless tanning products.
Protecting your skin today matters more than any trend.

Melanoma Monday 🖤
Not every skin cancer shows up where you expect. Make sure your self checks include easy to miss areas like your scalp, behind your ears, under your nails, and the soles of your feet.

If you notice a spot that is new, changing, or not healing, schedule a skin exam.

Melanoma Monday 🖤 One of the simplest ways to protect your skin is knowing what to look for. Remember the ABCDEs of melanoma: asymmetry, border, color, diameter, evolving. If a spot is new, changing, or looks different from the rest, do not wait. Schedule a skin exam.

As the seasons change, your skin does too.

Warmer weather, increased humidity, and more sun exposure can lead to breakouts, dryness, or increased sensitivity.

As you transition into spring, a few simple adjustments can help:

• Switch to a lighter moisturizer
• Use sunscreen daily
• Avoid over-exfoliating
• Reassess products that may be too heavy

Spring is a great time to get back on track with your skin health.

If your skin is breaking out, your hair seems to be shedding more than usual, or your nails feel weak and brittle, stress could be playing a role. These visible changes can be your body’s way of signaling that something is off.

April is Stress Awareness Month, making it a good time to pay attention to what your skin, hair, and nails may be telling you. If something does not seem right, a dermatology provider can help evaluate the cause and recommend the right next steps.

Schedule an appointment to discuss changes in your skin, hair, or nails. Visit us at https://truedermatology.com/location/.

Blushing is one thing. Constant redness, visible veins, and flare-ups are another.

If your skin often looks flushed, feels sensitive, or reacts easily, it may be more than just irritation. Rosacea is a common skin condition, but with the right care, it can be managed.

April is Rosacea Awareness Month, which makes this the perfect time to check in with your skin and schedule an appointment with a dermatology provider.
