This week, we had the honor of serving the families of Nickey Love, Wiley Ward, Judy Laster, and Terry Don King.
As funeral directors, we often say that funerals are not really about the day itself—they’re about the people who show up. They’re about the friends who stand in line for an hour just to offer a hug. They’re about the neighbors who bring food, the church members who sit quietly on a pew, the co-workers who stop by after a long day, and the countless individuals who simply take a moment to say, “We’re thinking about you.”
In today’s world, life moves fast. Calendars stay full. Schedules stay busy. Yet here in Crockett County and the surrounding communities, people still make time for one another. People still come to visitations. They still attend funerals. They still sit beside grieving families and remind them that they are not alone.
What a blessing that is.
Over the past several days, we witnessed acts of kindness, compassion, and love that cannot be measured. We saw friends reconnect, stories shared, tears shed, and memories celebrated. We were reminded once again that even in our darkest moments, community matters.
To every person who signed a register book, sent flowers, prepared a meal, offered a prayer, shared a memory, attended a service, or simply reached out to one of these families—thank you.
It was our privilege to walk alongside these families during one of the most difficult times of their lives. We sincerely hope that through the services, the conversations, the small details, and the care shown, we were able to provide comfort, support, and peace when it was needed most.
We are truly blessed to serve in a community where people still care for one another the way they do here. Never take that for granted.
From all of us at Ronk Funeral Home, thank you for supporting these families, and thank you for allowing us the opportunity to serve them.
With sincere appreciation,
The Ronk Funeral Home Family & Staff
