Recovery is a lot like roller skating.

Sometimes you find your rhythm and glide with confidence. Other times you stumble, lose your balance, or even take a fall. But every fall teaches us something, and every time we get back up and keep rolling, it’s a victory worth celebrating.

This week, the women of The ARC stepped out of their comfort zones and onto the skating rink for an afternoon filled with laughter, encouragement, and fellowship. More than just a fun outing, it was an opportunity to learn something many of us never learned during active addiction—how to genuinely enjoy life without the use of drugs or alcohol.

Recovery isn’t just about what we leave behind. It’s about discovering what we gain: healthy friendships, new experiences, confidence, joy, and the freedom to create meaningful memories together.

As we cheered each other on, helped each other up after a fall, and celebrated every lap around the rink, we were reminded that recovery is not a journey we walk alone. Unity, support, and connection are some of the greatest gifts recovery has to offer.

At The ARC, we believe that healing happens not only in meetings and groups but also in moments like these—moments that teach us how to laugh again, trust again, and truly live again.

đź’ś Every fall is a lesson.
đź’ś Every roll is a victory.
đź’ś Every day in recovery is another chance to keep moving forward.

A Level 1 (L-1) project is on that allows the women of The ARC to give back and serve their sisters. This week we took the time to disconnect so that we could connect at our camping project Ohoopee River RV & Camp Resort! Recovery requires so much more than just the abstinence of drugs and alcohol. Recovery is a process that allows us to become a giver and a contributing member of society! Together we are making our world a better place with every act of selfless service!!

“Recovery is not just about getting your life back—it’s about discovering the life you were always meant to live.”

At The ARC, we exist to restore women to a life of freedom, hope, and purpose.

Not long ago, we celebrated a milestone that will forever be part of our story—our very first graduates: Denice, Jamie, and Amy.

These three women walked through our leadership development program with courage, humility, and determination. They faced hard truths, embraced change, and chose growth every single day. They didn’t just complete a program—they transformed their lives.

Today, all three are mentoring women currently in the program, pouring back into others what was once poured into them. They are living proof that recovery is real.

They have restored relationships with their children, built meaningful careers, and become productive, respected members of society. Most importantly, they continue to be part of the solution—bringing hope, leadership, and light into the world around them.

This is why we do what we do.

Their stories remind us that freedom is possible, hope is alive, and purpose can be found again.

We are proud of you, Denice, Jamie, and Amy. Your lives are a testimony, and your leadership is changing generations.

The best is still ahead. đź’ś

We are so proud of you Jesi Squires!!!

Just 18 months ago, Jesi Squires did not have a key to her family’s home in southeast Georgia. She was homeless, abusing intravenous drugs and had a felony on her record. Jimbo Partin, executive director at Gardens of Hope in Lyons, which is what is known as a recovery community organization, said...

The Addiction Recovery Center is proud to announce its inaugural graduation class. As an organization dedicated to restoring women's lives with hope, dignity, and freedom, we acknowledge the pivotal role these women have played. Peer-led recovery is fundamental to our approach, fostering a leadership development program that equips women to lead themselves and others. Grateful for their partnership, we look forward to witnessing their future successes as they embark on new journeys and climb their next mountains!
