🐬Patients at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital dove into the world of submarines today thanks to the Albany-Saratoga Base Submarine Veterans and their Kap(SS) for Kid(SS) program.

Children explored a LEGO submarine model, learned how submarines work, and were named "Honorary Submariners" with their own certificates.

We’re incredibly thankful to have received a $100,000 Impact Grant from Hyundai Hope On Wheels to support our Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders. This grant supports the Survivorship Program, which provides care and emotional support to children who have completed cancer treatment. As part of the celebration, Melodies Center patients pressed their painted hands onto a Hyundai vehicle to commemorate their brave battles with cancer. We are deeply grateful to Hyundai Hope on Wheels for their continued partnership.

If you walk into our General Pediatrics clinic at 391 Myrtle Ave., make sure to look up! Scattered across the ceiling are colorful cartoons and inspiring messages, thanks to the Columbia High School Art Club in the East Greenbush Central School District. Since 2023, students have been painting ceiling tiles for our clinic to bring joy and comfort to our patients.

We’re all smiles as we look back on our Cares for Kids Radiothon in May! Our patients and families had a blast sharing their stories with our radio hosts from 99.5 The River and News Radio 103.1 & 810 WGY. Thanks to our generous donors, sponsors, and volunteers, we raised more than $325,000 to support the hundreds of children and families who rely on our care at the Children’s Hospital. There were a lot of hugs and smiling faces at the 2026 NICU Reunion! More than 100 families, with NICU graduates of all ages, stopped by the event at the Italian American Community Center in Albany on Sunday. They enjoyed games, crafts, snacks, and reuniting with the doctors and nurses who cared for them during their stay in our neonatal intensive care unit!

Drum roll please…after two wonderful days of the Cares for Kids Radiothon, we are over-the-moon excited to announce we raised $327,307 for our Children’s Hospital!
