We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Hayden Panettiere 💙

Hayden used her platform to speak about her experience with postpartum depression at a time when few public figures did. Her honesty about the stress, the anxiety, the isolation of feeling like “nobody around understood” gave voice to what so many new parents feel but rarely say out loud.

By sharing her story, Hayden helped normalize the conversation around perinatal mental health and let countless parents know they weren’t alone in their struggle. That kind of courage leaves a lasting impact.
Our thoughts are with her family, her daughter, and everyone who loved her.

Scholarships close this week!

Together, Postpartum Support International and the Policy Center for MMH has developed a Maternal Mental Health Certificate Training for Mental Health and Clinical Professionals.

This online webinar series includes eight live sessions, small group discussions, supplemental reading materials, 18 continuing education credits (where applicable), and a certificate of completion.

The Policy Center provides a limited number of full scholarships to clinicians working for non-profit organizations that provide direct service to mothers who may be suffering from MMH disorders.

We have a few more Board introductions! Continuing on with Julia Means, LMSW, PMH-C

Julia is a psychotherapist licensed in New York and New Jersey who is passionate about supporting individuals throughout the perinatal journey and advancing women’s mental health. With specialized training in perinatal mental health and a trauma-informed approach, she works with clients navigating perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, PMDD, and other reproductive mental health concerns. As Membership Co-Chair, she is committed to creating spaces where individuals feel supported, connected, and empowered throughout their parenting and reproductive health journeys. In her spare time, Julia enjoys needlepointing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Elizabeth is Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Monroe. She joined PSI because reproductive mental health is important to her. She enjoys hiking, foraging and being a ‘mom taxi.’

Continuing on with our board introductions, meet Julie Rosinski!

Julie is a clinical social worker and co-director of WNY Postpartum Connection, Inc., from Buffalo. As a clinical social worker, Julie knows how important resources, support, and information is for postpartum families, as well as education for service providers working with postpartum families. Julie loves to read, spend time outdoors and with her husband and 3 kids! Julie also heads up the scholarship committee for our NY Chapter.

Dr. Shanah Segal is a clinical in forensic psychologist with a private practice in NY, CT, & FL. She provides individual therapy and conduct psychological and forensic evaluations. Dr. Segal found Postpartum Support International when her second child spent some time in the NICU. She currently resides in NYC and is excited to connect with practitioners, moms, dads, providers, friends, and all who create the villages that we need in order to bring children into this world and raise them!
