What a special evening celebrating Marvin B. Laster and his induction into the Boys & Girls Clubs of Georgia Hall of Fame at the Merry Acres Inn. We are so thankful for Marvin's years of dedication, leadership, and hard work on behalf of our Clubs.

Marvin's journey with Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany is truly inspiring, from being a Club member and Youth of the Year to serving as its CEO, he has made an incredible impact on generations of young people throughout our community.

A huge thank you to Spelts & Masters Veterinary Clinic for hosting a school supply drive and donating the supplies to our organization. The generosity your business and customers have shown to youth in our community will help Club members learn and succeed in the classroom throughout the school year.

Saturday was an incredible day at The Club at Thornton Park. The "Dougherty County Family & Friends Day" brought together county employees, their families and friends, local vendors, community partners, and government officials for a day filled with fun, fellowship, and community pride. Those in attendance enjoyed amazing food, entertainment for the whole family, and an opportunity to cool off in the swimming pool.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany was honored to be a part of this year's event.

We're grateful to Kohl's for their $1,000 Kohl's Cares Shopping Grant, which helped make back-to-school shopping a memorable experience for five Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany Club members!

On Thursday, August 13th, Club youth visited the Albany Kohl's store to shop for back-to-school clothing, school essentials, and a few special wish list items. Thank you Kohl's and our local Albany store for investing in our youth and helping them start the school year with confidence excitement, and everything they need to succeed.

The doors are open, the energy is high, and an amazing new Afterschool Program year has officially begun at Boys & Girls Clubs of Albany!

Today marks the first day of our 2026-27 Afterschool Program and we couldn't be more excited to welcome our Club members back. Our Clubs provide critical support during afterschool hours including: homework support, sports, arts, character & leadership development, plus so much more.

The Club at Thornton Park wrapped up an unforgettable summer Friday with a day full of fun, friendly competition, and time together!

Club members celebrated the end of summer by enjoying volleyball, basketball, cheerleading, and a variety of exciting games that kept everyone active, engaged, and smiling. The celebration ended the best way possible—sharing a meal together like one big family.

As we close out an amazing summer, we're grateful for the friendships made, memories created, and the incredible experiences our Club members shared.
