🎉👏 Congratulations to Cliff Marquardt, Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center’s September Rising Star Employee of the Month! Cliff’s commitment to problem-solving and patient care goes far beyond his role as inpatient pharmacy coordinator. When he noticed recurring temperature alarms from a breast milk refrigerator outside of his department, he took the initiative to investigate, identify the cause and implement a simple solution that improved workflow and supported the safe storage of breast milk. 🌟💙

Cliff’s dedication to helping others was also on display when he assisted Samaritan’s Lincoln City hospital during an emergency refrigerator failure, using his technical expertise to help maintain medication security and minimize disruptions. Since joining Good Samaritan in 2018, Cliff has become known for his willingness to tackle challenges, support teammates and find solutions wherever they are needed. Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Linn-Benton Veterans Stand Down a tremendous success, especially our Samaritan volunteers, Veterans Representative Kyle Hatch, staff with our mobile medicine unit and members of the Veterans employee resource group!

This year's event served 104 veterans, a 76% increase over last year, connecting veterans and their families with housing assistance, VA benefits, employment services, medical care, education resources, PTSD support, dental care, haircuts and more through nearly 100 free resource booths. The Stand Down event is about more than services - It helps veterans reconnect with a sense of camaraderie, identity and purpose while building connections to the support they deserve. 💙

Samaritan Albany General Hospital is proud to recognize Angie Sharp, pharmacy tech, as the September hospital-based Rising Star. 🌟 When a patient faced a tight transportation timeline following discharge, Angie worked to make sure medications would be ready when needed. She coordinated with Elm Street Pharmacy, explored backup options and even located a cooler for medications to help support the patient's transition home. 💙
