Congratulations to the Night Shift OB Emergency Response Team at Samaritan Albany General Hospital, recipient of a DAISY Team Award for their extraordinary response to a rare and life-threatening childbirth emergency. 🌼

Their expertise, teamwork and compassion helped save a patient's life. Throughout the emergency, caregivers worked seamlessly together while providing comfort and reassurance to the patient and her family.

Summer is almost here, and with warmer weather comes the return of backyard barbecues, beach days, camping trips and outdoor gatherings. But extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for people experiencing homelessness, chronic health conditions or other vulnerabilities.

As temperatures rise across Benton, Linn and Lincoln counties, it’s important to know where to find help before a heat emergency happens. A little preparation can save lives.

This guide highlights:

✅ Local cooling centers and overnight shelters
✅ Transportation assistance through 211
✅ Oregon Health Plan climate supports, including portable air conditioners and mini-refrigerators for eligible members

Congratulations to Amanda Frare, RN, in Ambulatory Infusion at Samaritan Albany General Hospital, recipient of a DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing care. 🌼

Amanda was nominated by a patient who praised her calming presence, sense of humor and genuine compassion throughout cancer treatment. Whether helping patients feel more comfortable during difficult moments or supporting her teammates, Amanda is known for going above and beyond.

"Amanda is the absolute best infusion nurse," the nominator shared. "She has such a calming energy that helps tremendously when coming in for treatments."

The nomination also shared that she often reminds patients they are "stronger than they think," offering encouragement and positivity when it's needed most.💙

The Lebanon Community Hospital Auxiliary rolled out the red carpet for our Volunteer Services Luncheon, celebrating our “Stars of Appreciation” volunteers from both Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital and Samaritan Albany General Hospital. ✨ It was an afternoon dedicated to gratitude, connection and the incredible impact of our volunteers!

Our volunteers greet guests, support patients and families, and help keep the Garden Grounds coffee shop and gift shops running smoothly. Their presence is felt in many everyday moments that make visits a little easier and more welcoming.

To all our volunteers: thank you for the time, care and energy you so generously share. 💙 You are deeply valued and we appreciate everything you do!
