Delmar Family Medicine is now a part of the Albany Med Health System!

Today, the Delmar Family Medicine team joined leaders from the Albany Med Health System and the Town of Bethlehem for a ceremonial ribbon cutting. The practice, located at 1499 New Scotland Road in Slingerlands, has provided primary care to Bethlehem-area families for nearly 20 years. It is the latest of 30+ primary care offices within the Albany Med Health System offering routine and preventive care throughout the region.

Welcome to rheumatologist Dr. Helina Maharjan, who’s seeing adult patients at Albany Medical Center’s rheumatology clinics in Delmar and Latham. She has a special interest in myositis and vasculitis, particularly IgG4-related disease, and also cares for patients with other rheumatic conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and lupus.

Welcome back to plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Christina Rudolph, who has returned to the Capital Region following fellowship training at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. A graduate of our plastic surgery residency program and the Siena/Albany Medical College combined degree program, Dr. Rudolph has a special interest in head-to-toe pediatric plastic surgery and cares for children with a wide range of congenital and acquired conditions. She’s also seeing adult patients with cleft and craniofacial conditions and for general reconstruction procedures.

We welcome Dr. Brian Nasca, a trauma, critical care, and emergency general surgeon with expertise in robotic-assisted surgery in acute care. After a general surgery residency at Albany Medical College, he completed fellowships in surgical critical care and health services and outcomes research. Interested in quality improvement work, he served as a postdoctoral scholar and research fellow at the Surgical Outcomes and Quality Improvement Center at Northwestern University.

For 20 years, Albany Medical Center and Engeye have partnered to improve health, expand educational opportunities, and strengthen communities in rural Uganda.

As Engeye celebrates its 20th anniversary, the Albany Med Health System is supporting the organization's Climb for Good campaign through both participation and sponsorship. Faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters are taking part in the effort, which is helping fund a new protected water source, sanitation initiatives, and 100 solar-powered lights for local families. Learn how a partnership that began at Albany Medical College has grown into one of Albany Med's most enduring global connections.

Albany Med and Engeye are celebrating 20 years of a global health partnership, supporting health care and education initiatives in Uganda.

We welcome gastroenterologist Dr. Anika Paradkar, who focuses on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). She also sees patients with GERD, Barrett’s esophagus, and other conditions affecting the upper GI tract, and performs diagnostic and screening colonoscopies and upper endoscopy procedures. She’s seeing patients at Albany Medical Center’s main campus.

September is Childhood Cancer and Sickle Cell Awareness Month—a time to honor the children and families whose lives have been impacted by these illnesses.

In 2025, there were 1,500 visits to the Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders, a clinic within the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center, providing highly-specialized care for our region’s children. As part of an academic health system, the Melodies Center is also involved in more than 40 studies related to pediatric cancer through the National Cancer Institute and the Children’s Oncology Group.

Employees and students came together for Albany Medical Center's annual Employee Picnic at our main campus and 1275 Broadway. It was a chance to connect with colleagues, enjoy great food and entertainment, and celebrate the people who make Albany Med such a special place. Thank you to everyone who attended, as well as the employee volunteers, planning committee members, and vendors whose time, energy, and support helped make the picnics such a success.
