โ๏ธ๐บ๐ธ Larry the Pediatric Trauma Llama wants YOU to have a safe, healthy, and fun Fourth of July! ๐ฆโค๏ธ๐
With hot temperatures and holiday celebrations ahead, now is the perfect time to brush up on a few simple safety tips that can make a big difference.
๐ง Stay hydrated โ Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you donโt feel thirsty.
๐งด Protect your skin โ Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen before heading outside and reapply every 2 hours (or after swimming or sweating).
๐ก๏ธ Know the signs of heat exhaustion โ Heavy sweating, dizziness, headache, nausea, muscle cramps, and fatigue are all warning signs. Move to a cool place, drink water, and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.
๐ Practice firework safety โ Leave fireworks to the professionals whenever possible. Keep a safe distance from displays.
A little planning goes a long way toward making this holiday memorable for all the right reasons.
From all of us at Safe Kids Capital Region and the Albany Medical Center Pediatric Trauma Program, we wish you and your family a safe, healthy, and Happy Fourth of July! ๐บ๐ธ๐
