Some stories deserve a permanent place to be remembered. At Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, engraved paver bricks line our paver pathway as lasting tributes to the people who have made an impact on our lives—honoring loved ones, celebrating milestones, recognizing caregivers, or simply saying thank you.

Today, the Phoebe Foundation gathered with families, friends, and caregivers for a paver dedication ceremony, recognizing the newest pavers added to this meaningful space. The ceremony also included a special bench dedication in memory of Gleaton Pace Jones, creating another lasting tribute on our campus.

Thank you to Lee County High School's 9th Grade Campus HOSA members who participated in the May is for Miracles donation drive, raising $372 for Children’s Miracle Network! This effort is especially meaningful thanks to Mrs. Jeanifer Hill, a former NICU and Mother-Baby Unit nurse at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, who now inspires students as an Introduction to Healthcare Science teacher. While working as an RN, Jeanifer supported CMN by organizing fundraising efforts and creating balloon murals as part of friendly hospital competitions. Today, she continues that tradition with her students. Each year, 9th grade HOSA members lead a campus-wide donation drive, then transform their impact into a colorful balloon mural displayed in the hallway, symbolizing hope for some of the most vulnerable patients in our community. Through this project, students not only give back but also learn the power of compassion, service, and healthcare advocacy. We’re proud of these students for continuing a tradition that truly makes a difference!

Today, we join our community and many across Georgia in remembering Ted Turner—a visionary whose impact reached far beyond media and into the land and communities he cared so deeply about.

Turner’s influence can be felt right here in Dougherty County, where his commitment to conservation and responsible land stewardship helped shape a deeper appreciation for the natural resources that surround us. His belief that those who respect the land—hunters, fishermen, and conservationists alike—play a vital role in protecting it continues to resonate.

He was also a supporter of the Phoebe Foundation, and we are grateful for the role he played in helping advance our mission to improve lives through better healthcare in Southwest Georgia.

Some of the most meaningful moments in healthcare happen in the quietest spaces.

At our recent Phoebe Foundation Corporate Partners Luncheon, each of our Corporate Partners was honored with a birdhouse in their name. These birdhouses will be placed outside patient rooms at the Willson Hospice House, each one marked with a plaque recognizing the partner it represents.

More than a symbol, they will serve as small moments of light for families walking through one of life’s hardest seasons. A reminder that they are surrounded by a community that cares deeply.

Because of our partners, even in places of goodbye, there is beauty, comfort, and compassion.

On Tuesday, April 28, we gathered at Doublegate Country Club for our Phoebe Foundation Corporate Partners Luncheon, celebrating the businesses and leaders who stand beside us all year long.
