Our team is enjoying continuing education today at the beautiful Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge, learning more about treatment planning & case presentation, digital dentistry, and collaborative patient care.

✨ Meet Kandie Wilkerson — the voice of Kirby-Cochran Center for Dental Health! ✨

If you’ve called our office, chances are you already know Kandie! And if you’re from Albertville, there’s an even better chance that she knows you, and probably your mama too! 😂❤️

Kandie is truly a HUGE part of our team. She is one of those people who will go out of her way 100 times over to help someone. Whether it’s finding a way to get a patient worked into the schedule, helping someone who is hurting, answering questions, or simply making sure they’re taken care of, Kandie will do everything she can to help.

An Albertville native and 1988 graduate, Kandie spent more than 20 years working in accounting before making the move into dentistry. In 2014, she began working alongside her longtime friend, Dr. Allen Kirby, and she has been a dedicated part of the dental world—and our patients’ lives—ever since.

Kandie has been married to her husband, Chris Wilkerson, for nine years. She is a proud mom to her son, JC Baker, and loves having his wife, Madison, as part of the family. She is also a proud stepmom to Alleigh Wilkerson. Above everything else, family is at the heart of Kandie’s life, and spending time with the people she loves is where she is happiest.

When she isn’t keeping our office running and taking care of our patients, you’ll probably find Kandie in the kitchen! She is an incredible cook and spends lots of weekends catering weddings, parties and events big and small. She and her family have also been members of Solitude Baptist Church for 12 years.

Kandie has a heart for people, and that shows in everything she does. She knows our patients, she cares about our patients, and she works tirelessly to make sure they are taken care of. We truly don’t know what we would do without Kandie! 💙

✨The one and only- Lynn Medders, RDH ✨

Mary Evelyn Sasser Medders, but we all just call her Lynnie ❤️

Originally from Sylacauga, Alabama, Lynn graduated from Coosa Valley Academy. Go Rebels! She began her dental career as a dental assistant in 1982 and has been a registered dental hygienist since 1989. Lynn has dedicated 44 years to the dental field! She has spent her career serving patients with compassion and excellence, with a special place in her heart for caring for patients with special needs. Lynn has a passion for treating her patients like family, and not just one patient, EVERY patient!

Lynn and her husband, Norman, have been married for 43 years. They have two daughters, Lauren and Andrea & are proud grandparents to four grandchildren!

When she’s not caring for smiles or grands, Lynnie enjoys baking, quilting, and playing tennis. She also attends church at Church of the Highlands in Gadsden, where she’s been involved for over 11 years, leading small groups and serving others.

Retirement? NO WAY! There has been a rumor around town that she’s on her way out; but Lynn has promised us that she is happy with her part time schedule and loves her team and her patients & she’s not ready to go any time soon!

✨ Meet Dr. Tara Cochran, DMD ✨

If you’ve visited our office, chances are you’ve already experienced Dr. Cochran’s warm smile and genuine heart for caring for people. But we’d love to officially (re)introduce the doctor behind Kirby-Cochran Center for Dental Health!

Born and raised right here in Albertville, Dr. Tara Cochran is proud to call this community home. She graduated from Albertville High School before earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2017. In 2021, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by becoming the owner of a dental practice in the very town that helped shape her. Once an Aggie, always an Aggie! ♥️

Dr. Cochran is passionate about providing exceptional hometown dental care while giving back to the community she loves. Her goal is simple: to make every patient feel comfortable, cared for, and valued from the moment they walk through our doors.

One of the things our patients appreciate most is the personal connection they experience here. She may come off as shy, but don’t be surprised if Dr. Cochran remembers details about your family, your vacation, or that big life event you mentioned at your last visit! She believes dentistry is about building relationships just as much as creating healthy, beautiful smiles.

She also has a special heart for her patients, taking the time to listen, explain, and ensure each visit is as stress-free as possible. Whether you’re here for routine care or a complete smile transformation, Dr. Cochran loves helping patients gain confidence through beautiful cosmetic restorations and personalized treatment.

When she’s not in the office, you’ll likely find her planning her next adventure or traveling. She is also an incredible cook! She and her boyfriend, Matt, enjoy trying new recipes together, and around here, we all agree—nothing Dr. Cochran makes is ever bad!

🦷 Fun fact: Dr. Cochran is an excellent singer and she loves her 10 year old cat, Teddy 😽 and a sweet pup, Freya 🐶

Today we celebrate Chelsea on her last day with our office.

While we are so sad to see her go, we are incredibly excited for her as she begins a new chapter as a stay-at-home mom. Chelsea has been such a valued part of our team, and her kindness, dedication, and bright smile will truly be missed by both our staff and patients.
We love you, Chelsea, and wish you all the happiness in this sweet season of life! 💕
