We want to congratulate Dr. Graves on 2 outstanding years at Eyes on Albertville! Dr. Graves has been practicing optometry for 15 years and offers patients thorough, personalized examinations rooted in her experience and expertise. She completed an Ocular Disease Residency in 2012, earned her fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2013, and spent many years caring for veterans at the VA prior to joining our team.

We’re grateful to have Dr. Graves on our team and our patients are lucky to be cared for by her.

We asked Dr. Graves a few questions about her last year at our Eyes on locations:

👁️If your job had a theme song, what would it be? That's tough, to choose just one, but I am happiest when our clinic music is on the "yacht rock" or "Mom Jeans" station. So if we look for the Venn diagram overlap, I'm going with Kenny Loggins' "This Is It" & Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere"

👁️What’s something new you’ve learned in your role this year? The best new thing this year has been opening our Little Eyes on Albertville location. As far as something new I've learned, it would be the new technology available to us with the Stellest lens for myopia control. The rapid progression of nearsightedness ("myopia") in children is a problem we can address with tools (glasses & contact lenses) that did not exist even 10 years ago.

👁️What’s one word your coworkers would use to describe you? Delightfully unhinged

👁️What’s a fun fact most people don’t know about you? Optometry is my second career. My undergraduate degree is from Belmont University where I studied music business & interned at RCA Label Group. My part-time job in high school was pulling charts in a large optometry private practice, so my career path ultimately came full circle.

👁️What’s something you’re excited about in the year ahead? I am excited for another season of Aggie basketball & to watch my children thrive at school, at work & in basketball, flag football, football, softball & Miracle League! Personally, I'm excited for any opportunity to get outside & explore. Preferably on a kayak.

✨ Eyes On Our Team ✨

Join us in congratulating Dr. Branch on 9 outstanding years! Dr. Branch is an optometrist and co-owner of Eyes on Albertville, Eyes on Guntersville, and Little Eyes on Albertville.

For the past nine years, Dr. Branch has poured her heart into the practice, our patients, the profession of optometry, and the people around her. She currently serves on the boards of the Alabama Optometric Association, the UABSO Alumni Association, and the Albertville Chamber of Commerce.

What we admire most about Dr. Branch, though, is the way she uses her gifts to serve others. Each year, she travels to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota to provide free eye exams to residents of all ages. She also continually shows up for her employees, encouraging and supporting the people who make our practices what they are.

We asked Dr. Branch a few questions about her past year at our Eyes On locations:

👁️ If your job had a theme song, what would it be? Probably “Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons because every day is different and I have to be ready for anything.
👁️What’s something new you’ve learned in your role this year? I’ve learned just how much community support matters. This year has reminded me that when you invest in your community and build genuine relationships, people really do show up for you in return.
👁️What’s one word your coworkers would use to describe you? This one is too hard! Maybe “intentional” or “passionate.”
👁️What’s a fun fact most people don’t know about you? I love listening to podcasts and have such a variety that I listen to regularly. Some are news, pop culture, investigative journalism, comedy, or religious- I cover a lot of topics!
👁️What’s something you’re excited about in the year ahead? Professionally, I am so excited to see how Little Eyes will grow and the impact that it will have for our community. I love watching our team grow as we add new members and develop our current team. Personally, I have a few trail runs I am signed up for, and I can’t wait to push myself to new distances. My children are 2 and 6 years old and they are growing and changing so fast right now. It’s always exciting to see what new things they are interested in and watching them learn new things.

✨ Eyes On Our Team ✨

We want to congratulate Glenda Reed on 9 outstanding years at Eyes On Albertville (and 32 years at this office)! Glenda is our most tenured team member and has been an optician at the practice since the Dr. Hoerth days! Her honest frame-styling ability keeps many long-time patients asking for her by name year after year. 👓

We asked Glenda a few questions about her past year at EOA:

👁️ If your job had a theme song, what would it be? 9-5

👁️ What’s something new you’ve learned in your role this year? I’ve enjoyed learning how to use our new lensometer that we got for our clinic! A lensometer is a tool we use to read and double-check glasses prescriptions to make sure everything is just right. We try to ensure we have the best equipment to better serve our patients’ needs.

👁️ What’s one word your coworkers would use to describe you? Dependable!

👁️ What’s a fun fact most people don’t know about you? Most people know this fun fact about me, but I sure love to wear the most unusual and glittery frames out there.

👁️ What’s something you’re excited about in the year ahead? I am so looking forward to seeing our 3 practices grow!

We want to congratulate Joy Carvalho on 5 outstanding years at Eyes On Albertville! At the front desk, Joy schedules patients, verifies insurance, and works closely with other local medical offices to coordinate patient care. She began her career with us as a technician and continues to assist with patient pre-testing and imaging when needed.

👁️ What’s something new you’ve learned in your role this year?
Something big I’ve learned this year is billing and coding while having the opportunity to cross-train into front desk. I’ve appreciated the opportunity to grow in responsibilities and being more reliable in different aspects of the office.

👁️ What’s one word your coworkers would use to describe you?
Encouraging!

👁️ What’s a fun fact most people don’t know about you?
Well this is more of a crazy fact! But I was once involved in an Uber vs. horse collision while traveling through Brazil!

👁️ What’s something you’re excited about in the year ahead?
Seeing Little Eyes On continue to flourish!🥹🧡
