Last week, we had the joy of celebrating one of our own as he graduated with his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry.

Dr. Alex Honea first became part of the Eyes On family 10 years ago while still a student at Albertville High School and exploring his interest in optometry. Since then, he has spent many school breaks and summers shadowing and working alongside our team while completing his undergraduate degree at Auburn University, graduating in 2022.

It has been incredibly special to watch Alex grow from a student with a dream into an optometrist. His dedication, humility, and hard work have been evident every step of the way, and we are so proud of all he has accomplished.

This commencement was made even more meaningful as I had the opportunity to attend and celebrate this milestone with him in my role as this year’s Alumni Board President.

We cannot wait to share more details soon as Dr. Honea begins this exciting next chapter in his optometric career.
