As we close out September, our LaGrange and Angola teams attended su***de awareness walks hosted by the LaGrange County Mental Health/Substance Use Collaborative and Trine University. NEC staff spent time interacting with attendees and providing resources to those in attendance.

Did you know that September is Su***de Awareness Month? While our team works to combat su***de year-round, our Zero Su***de committee organized several activities last week for Su***de Prevention and Awareness Week.

Northeastern Center staff were encouraged to wear su***de awareness colors, check in with their teammates, take a walk to remember those lost to su***de and more. Shown are photos of painted rocks that were placed around our offices and in our communities, as well as positive chalk messages.

The sidewalk chalk was drawn by our staff at many of our outpatient offices. Additionally, a few of our committee members teamed up with students from DeKalb High School and East Noble High School. Thank you to everyone who helped spread awareness and hope in our communities.
