Mamaw’s interactions with the babies are always some of the sweetest, most heartwarming moments. ❤️ Watching her love and kindness shine through is truly special. We are so thankful we were able to capture this precious interaction on video. It’s easy to see that she has a heart full of love for others, and we are so blessed to have her as part of our family. I had to snap this picture and share it with you all. When I arrived at our home this morning, Ed was sitting on the lower porch, taking in the beauty around him. He greeted me with, “Good morning, I am in Heaven—without dying first!”

If you know Ed, you know that sounds exactly like something he would say. ❤️

Today he’s soaking up the sunshine, watching the wildlife, enjoying the scenery, and reminding us all to appreciate the little things. ☀️

🖤Sending a huge congratulations to the Class of 2026 from our family at The Country Retreat! 🎓

We would like to give a very special shoutout to Layla, one of our Resident Care Associates, as she graduates tonight. We are so proud of her and all she has accomplished! ❣️

We also had the honor of presenting our scholarships to Myla and Hannah, this year’s two recipients, at the ceremony last night. We wish them both so much luck as they begin their next chapter and enter the nursing field to love and care for others.

I have included Colson’s presentation describing our scholarship in the comments. He did a wonderful job, and we are so blessed to have him as part of both our family and our team.❤️

On National Flip Flop Day we designed our own flip flops and also decided to do a taste test of the new Cheez-It x Chili Cheese Hot Dog flavored crackers. It was about a 50/50 split as to who liked them and who definitely did not! 😂 One thing is for sure…they sparked lots of laughs and opinions from our family today!

Our hands tell so many stories about our lives.

They have carried us through trials, tribulations, hard work, love, and countless memories. We asked Jean to tell us a little bit about her hands and what they have done throughout her life.

Her answer was beautiful.

“My hands have cut wood to keep the house warm, cleaned, gathered eggs, shoveled coal and driveways, washed clothes, paddled butts, cooked, ironed, canned vegetables, and held babies and chickens.”

What a story those hands could tell. ❤️

🌟🌟Congratulations to Eli, the winner of our Bubble Gum Blowing Contest!

When he came to pick up his prize, he had one special request — a picture with Jean and Evajean. 🩵 Jean is his great-grandmother, and Evajean is someone he has known from the community his whole life.

A few of the ladies wanted some longhorn cheese and cucumbers, and of course we took a trip to the store to fill their wishes (and tummies) immediately. ❤️

Jean was quick to tell Mamaw, “You better be glad you are here and not in an old people’s home or you wouldn’t get treated like this. I am staying here forever and ever.” 🥹

This is a wonderful testament about just how special our home truly is. Our residents feel loved, safe, heard, and cared for — and that will always be what matters most to us.❤️

Instead of giggly little school girls talking about their futures, it’s ladies sitting around sharing stories of their pasts…all while still giggling. 🥹

The ladies were gifted matching bracelets by Mary, one of our employees with a heart of gold. Friendships are truly important at every stage of life.❤️
