One of the most important skills for patients recovering from spinal cord injuries is learning bed mobility and rolling. During rehabilitation at our Encompass Health hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona, Brian worked with BlazePods in physical therapy and became a pro at rolling! These sessions increased repetitions, promoted core engagement and encouraged rolling from side to side!

Paul was admitted to our Encompass Health hospital in Irmo, South Carolina, after a hospitalization for pneumonia and weakness.

Determined to return home, Paul worked hard in therapy to rebuild his strength and improve his balance. With the help of advanced rehabilitation technology, including the Vector system, he made significant progress toward his recovery goals!

Mark was admitted to our Encompass Health hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after having a stroke. When he arrived, he had little movement on the right side of his body and required the assistance of two people for transfers. Through patience, determination and hard work, Mark showed up every day ready to give his best effort in therapy. Over time, he regained movement in his right leg and made remarkable progress.

By discharge, Mark was able to walk out of the hospital with standby assistance. Congratulations on your incredible recovery, Mark! 🎉💙

Yesterday, we celebrated the grand opening of our newest hospital! Located in San Antonio, Texas, this 50-bed rehabilitation hospital will provide life-changing care to those recovering from stroke, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations and other complex orthopedic and neurological conditions.

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Westover Hills marks our 30th location in Texas and second location in San Antonio.

We are proud of our continued growth across the country. By providing greater access to rehabilitation, we are helping individuals recovering from serious illnesses and injuries get back to their lives and to what matters most to them.

Members of our therapy team participated in the Rio Rally, hosted by Global Opportunities Unlimited. The local organization provides support and resources for individuals with spinal cord injuries. The Rio Rally features a bike ride along the Bosque and gives participants the opportunity to try adaptive cycling equipment.

The event was a meaningful way for the team to continue recognizing and celebrating Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month while supporting members of the community!💜
