Part of healing is finding acceptance or closure in things we do or don’t have full knowledge of why it happened.
As a pelvic floor physical therapist I help people with pain, which can be encompassed around hands on manual therapy to improve how muscles, joints, and nerves are working with the body.
I am a specialist in movement so I a**lyze how someone goes about day to day movement, whether that be work, recreational activities, exercise, or daily tasks (ie p**p, p*e, s*x, housework, etc) to optimize function and reduce pain.
Another aspect of my practice is to break down basic things we do to help to optimize in body functions. This is so that we are setting ourselves up for good organ system functions and nervous system function. This is important because when our insides from head to toe are nourished with good habits we tend to feel better.
This is holistic care and not just laser focused to your pelvic floor.
Now often times my patients only need me to reduce pain and feel better. Yet many times it does take a multi disciplinary approach. What is that exactly? When different medical professionals do their “magic” with their specialty. Mental health providers can be a huge help with chronic pain or any chronic symptoms, which was a suggestion to my recent patient to help him move through his healing process. Other providers like gastroenterologists, urologists, gynecologists, colore**al surgeons, nutritionists, pain doctors, neurologists, chiropractors, and so many other specialists are there to help you navigate your symptoms.
I know times can be challenging but lean into those around you because you were not meant to carry this on your own.
If you are experiencing pelvic pain give us a call to schedule your pelvic PT. And if you need other medical support make sure to call them too because it can take a village to help you feel like you again.
