If you fall on your buttocks or tailbone chances are your butt and pelvic floor muscles could be feeling the pain. You don’t necessarily need to get a bruise, have visual changes to the skin, or break a bone to have symptoms. Muscles are really good at guarding and protecting you, which can result in pain. If the impact is big enough, surrounding muscles and joints can also be affected.
If you fall and can’t quickly spring up and move without pain or you have symptom changes mentioned below, it is highly recommended to have your spine, pelvis, hips, and pelvis floor muscles checked.
➡️Other things to pay attention to is how you empty p*e and p**p afterwards. This could be anything from skinny or narrow p**ps. Pooping or p*eing the requires straining or bearing down to empty. Dribbling after urination. Or pain going to the bathroom.
➡️Pelvic pain- anything from tailbone pain, pain around re**um during bowel movements or separate times, or changes in the front ge***al pain.
➡️For some individuals they may also notice radicular pain also known as shooting nerve like pain down the legs and sometimes into the pelvic floor.
Good news is, with the right care the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding muscles and joints can get better.
