As with other cancer types, detecting lung cancer early increases both the chance of survival and the number of treatment options available. Many lung cancer patients don’t show any symptoms before they are diagnosed, and many diagnoses occur after the cancer has already spread to other parts of the body. While lung cancer is not just a “smoker’s disease,” there are certain groups of people who should be regularly screened as recommended by the US Preventive Services Task Force:

- Those with a 20-pack-per-year or more smoking history

- Smoke now or have quit within the past 15 years

- Are between 50 and 80 years old

"The human brain isn’t designed to multitask. Your brain is actually programmed to only handle one task at a time. Too many tasks that involve high-level decisions compete with each other. This can tire you out and make it more difficult to focus your attention on one task, even when you want to."

Here’s how to break the habit and keep your brain healthy
