It might be worth asking yourself, “Do I feel loved for who I am, or mostly for who I am when I’m easy to love?” You can also ask yourself if you feel comfortable expressing needs, if you can disagree without worrying you’ll be rejected or if the person knows what matters to you. Being known is feeling like you can show up as a whole person without having to constantly be the polished or convenient version of yourself. You can just be you 🧡

You don’t need 100% certainty to be okay and sometimes uncertainty is something we have to tolerate. Healthy relationships make room for reassurance but they don’t require one person to constantly manage the other’s anxiety. Realistically, the goal isn’t to stop needing people, but to stop needing someone else to constantly prove that you’re okay. Okay? (I’ll try to take my own advice on this one 😬). Anyways, happy Wednesday! 🧡

Hi, Happy Friday! Sometimes during an argument we hear a tone, followed by in the blanks and respond to the meaning we’ve assigned rather than the words that were actually spoken. That doesn’t mean our interpretation is irrational, but our brains naturally use past experiences to make sense of the present. If you’ve been criticized a lot, neutral comments might feel like criticism or if you’ve experienced rejection, distance might feel like abandonment. One of the most underrated relationship skills is slowing down long enough to separate what happened from the story we’re telling ourselves about what happened. Have a good weekend, lovely people.

Emotions are information. I’m not telling you that your feelings aren’t worth listening to because they are. But listening doesn’t have to mean obeying. I feel like I’m at the mercy of my emotions sometimes but I’m trying to learn that every emotion doesn’t need to immediately become a crisis. This doesn’t mean you have to talk yourself out of feeling or convince yourself that everything is fine. You sometimes just need to create enough space between feeling something and acting on it in order to decide what you actually want to do. Happy Thursday! 🧡

You don’t have to earn your worth through self-improvement. Yes, working on yourself is valuable but you don’t have to be “fixed” or perfect to be worthy of love. There will always be something you’re learning, unlearning, grieving or navigating and it’s important to remember that healing isn’t something that people either have or haven’t achieved. Happy Thursday! 🧡

It’s uncomfortable to consider that someone may remember us differently than we remember ourselves. Sometimes we hurt people unintentionally and sometimes they misunderstand us. Sometimes both happen at once. Our intentions don’t automatically erase someone else’s experience, just as someone else’s experience doesn’t necessarily define our character. The goal isn’t to carry endless guilt, because who does that help? Instead, we should stay open to feedback, make repairs when appropriate, and recognize that relationships and rarely as simply as “one person was entirely right and the other was entirely wrong.” Just some food for thought on this fine Tuesday. 🫡🧡

I think people often imagine healing as becoming happier, more confident or more emotionally expressive but sometimes it looks much simpler. You don’t feel the need to defend yourself to everyone who misunderstands you. You stop chasing closure. You don’t dwell on every mistake you’ve ever made. Yeah, it does look like caring less and in some ways you have! But definitely not because you’ve stopped caring about people. You just stopped giving your energy to things that don’t need to carry so much weight. Happy Wednesday! 🧡

Somehow we started feeling like we need to treat every moment like it should produce a return on investment.
Reading has to make us smarter, exercise has to make us more attractive and hobbies have to make money.
Even rest has become something we try to “maximize.”
There’s nothing wrong with growth but if every part of your life becomes another project to improve, it’s easy to forget that some experiences are valuable simply because they’re enjoyable.
Not everything has to make you a better person and some things can just make you feel more like yourself! Happy Monday 🧡

Most people think closure is getting answers.
But sometimes closure means accepting that you’ll never get the explanation you wanted and maybe the answer is just:
“They weren’t capable of giving you what you needed.”

A lot of people stay emotionally tied to situations because they’re waiting for the perfect text, apology or confession and that’ll be the moment where everything makes sense.
But explanations rarely heal us the way we hope they will.
Even when we get answers it doesn’t change what happened. Maybe closure is the realization that you’ve spent enough energy chasing an explanation that you don’t need in order to heal. 🧡 Just a little food for thought and I hope everyone has a lovely day.
