Support Mother Earth by supporting their land defenders & water protectors! *We are the land defending itself*
✨We are launching our annual Black Mesa spring sheep camp supply drive. I am coordinating a regional caravan of supporters out to Black Mesa to support elders who are resisting forced relocation. We will be delivering mutual aid, offering support with sheep shearing, sheepherding and offering repairs to corrals & homesites. Last year we sheared over 610 sheep.

‼️What supplies to donate and where to take supplies is detailed in the flyer. We have several donation drop off locations from Zendo, Offcenter & Red Root. We will be adding a few more locations so stay tuned!

🛻 Black mesa terrain is rugged & there are not many gas stations accessible throughout the region. Elders often live on unpaved roads without running water & electricity. We will be prepping accordingly, community can support by making a donation to support with travel expenses, donating supplies to our drop off locations &/or folks can directly donate to the entire sheep camp via Gofundme link

Feeling so blessed to know our community will receive care from this awesome midwife!

CWI is overjoyed to welcome New Mexico's newest licensed midwife to our collective! Angelique Steadman has been a beloved doula, birthworker, and midwifery apprentice for many years, joining CWI two years ago as a midwifery fellow as part of our Rematriating Apprenticeship initiative, and now joins our team of midwives after successfully completing the NM apprenticeship pathway. The majority of her midwifery training was with the amazing Andrea "Nandi" Hill at the only Black-led midwifery practice in the state. She is a co-founder of The Reproductive Sanctuary, a visionary model with a mission to improve perinatal outcomes for Black, Indigenous, and vulnerable people within the maternity care deserts of the Southwest, as well as Ember Birth, a doula organization that has provided birth support to hundreds of families over the years. Please join us to welcome and celebrate, Angelique!!
