Funeral Service for Mrs. Linda D***s, 81, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Alexander City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at Radney Funeral Home.

Linda Hutcherson D***s was born on September 22, 1945 and passed away on October 23, 2026 at the age of 81.

She was the youngest of six sisters born to Sherley and Lowel Hutcherson. She grew up in the Avondale Village in a family that seemed to truly live by the motto “it takes a village.” The oldest siblings were tasked to help raise the youngest siblings, and in turn the youngest siblings tasked to raise the nieces and nephews that followed. As her niece said, “I can’t describe it but there was something magical about those Hutcherson sisters.”

Linda graduated an Auburn Tiger her with a BS in Business Administration. She married Donald D***s and they had two children, Rock and Dana. In her younger days Linda was an avid tennis player and loved to go antiquing and to flea markets. She was an incredibly skilled seamstress, cross stitcher, and crafter. She was also a voracious reader and fan of Westerns.
Linda loved living on Lake Martin. She worshiped the sun and could not wait to hit the pier on nice days. She loved homemade ice cream, Hershey chocolate bars, and Dr. Pepper.

Funeral Service for Mrs. Emma C. Wilson, 94, of Alexander City, Alabama, will be Friday, October 23, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Hillabee Baptist Church. Dr. Josh Sammons will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 23, 2026 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Hillabee Baptist Church.

Mrs. Wilson passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 19, 2026. She was born on March 4, 1932 in Titus, Alabama to Robert Charles Cardwell and Mae Rose Pool Cardwell. Emma lived a long and faithful life marked by devotion to her Lord, her family, and her church. She was a Christian woman whose life reflected the strength, grace, and humility that come from walking closely with God. Her faith was not only spoken, but lived each day through her kindness, her steady spirit, and the love she shared with those around her. She was an active member of Hillabee Baptist Church, where she found fellowship, worship, and encouragement in the house of the Lord. Her church family was an important part of her life, and she cherished the opportunity to serve, worship, and grow in faith among fellow believers.

Emma was a woman of many gifts and simple joys. She loved to play cards, dominos, and Rook, and she especially enjoyed the laughter and companionship that came with time spent around the table with family and friends. She was also a devoted fan of the Alabama football team and took great pleasure in cheering them...

Mr. John Cranford Speake, 73, of Jacksons Gap passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026 at his home.

Born on September 1, 1953 in Alexander City, Alabama to John D. Speake and Mattie Lee Strickland Speake, John lived a life marked by quiet strength, steady companionship, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures that made each day meaningful. He was a man who valued peace, routine, and the comfort of familiar places and faces. Those who knew him will remember his calm presence, his easy manner, and the genuine warmth he shared with others throughout his life.

John loved fishing, and it was one of the great joys of his life. He found happiness in the patience and stillness that fishing required, and he especially cherished the peaceful setting of the lake where he lived. The quiet surroundings suited him well and gave him a sense of contentment that he carried with him every day. The lake was more than just a home to John. It was a place of rest, reflection, and comfort, and he appreciated the serenity it offered.

He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, both at Russell Corp. and at Walmart, where he formed lasting connections and shared many good conversations over the years. John valued friendship and the fellowship that came from being around people he knew and trusted. He had a way of making others feel at ease, and his presence was appreciated by those who had the privilege of knowing him in those settings.
