When a Dothan, AL, news station wants a vein expert, they call CVR.

Anna Parkinson, APRN, joined WTVY News 4's Morning Mingle to set the record straight: "A lot of people think that it is just cosmetic, but it is definitely not. It is a chronic disease."

Her key insight: your calf muscle is the heart of your leg. It's the pump that keeps circulation moving.

Happy first day of fall, which means it's legally pumpkin spice latte season again!

Myth: The caffeine is out to get your veins. Reality: It's the 50 grams of sugar hiding under that whipped cream you should side-eye, not the espresso.

One PSL won't wreck your legs. A whole season of five-pump orders- that's a different story.

CVR's Dr. Barajas fact-checks five PSL claims so you can sip without the side of guilt: https://bit.ly/4dQFvBv 👈

Insurance may make you wear compression stockings for three months before covering your vein treatment.

Here's what surprises most people: Compression can ease the ache. It can't fix the failing valve underneath it.

CVR's Dr. Attaran breaks down what your insurance is really asking for, and what it isn't at https://bit.ly/3V5Bin8.

Migraines and restless legs seem unrelated. Turns out they show up together far more than chance would explain.

One overlooked reason why: the same crawling, achy, can't-sit-still feeling in your legs can actually be a treatable vein problem in disguise.

Chase the wrong cause, and the sleep loss keeps fueling your migraines.

CVR's Dr. Gurmendi explains the surprising link between the two and how to find out if your restless legs could be vein-related..

World Patient Safety Day is a reminder of something we take seriously every day: safe care isn't a given. It's earned, visit after visit.

Vein disease is a chronic condition, which means many patients return to us again and again over the course of their care. That ongoing relationship is exactly why safety has to be built into every step, not just the first one.

This year's theme, "Safe care for life," reflects what we already strive for: careful diagnosis, transparent treatment plans, and follow-up that doesn't stop once symptoms improve.

To our patients, thank you for trusting us with your care. To our physicians and staff, thank you for making safety the standard, not the exception.

That reddish-brown patch on your ankle isn't a bruise. It's blood that's been pooling under your skin.

Chronic venous insufficiency affects more than 25 million American adults, and skin discoloration is often the first visible clue, long before pain or swelling show up.

CVR's Dr. Lim has sound advice: catch it early, and the discoloration often fades once you treat the circulation.

🔎 What does ankle discoloration say about your vein health?
