We regret to announce the passing of Lionel Elie, 77, of Alexandria, Louisiana, who passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026.

A Public Viewing and Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed by the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 320 Daspit Street, Alexandria, LA 71302.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Alexandria, Louisiana.

The Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 noon at First Evening Star Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in First Evening Star Baptist Church Cemetery, Alexandria, Louisiana.

Retired Alexandria Police Chief Daren Elise Coutee, 82, of Pineville, Louisiana, transitioned from this earthly life on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Chief Coutee proudly served in the United States Navy and devoted many years to law enforcement, including serving as the first African American Police Chief of the Alexandria Police Department from January 23, 2004, until January 24, 2010.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 423 Highway 495, Cloutierville, LA 71416. Public viewing and visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow immediately in the church cemetery.

The family will also receive guests for a Public Viewing & Visitation on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Church Family, 312 Hunter Street, Pineville, Louisiana 71360.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Celebrating the Life of Zion Ali “MAX” Campbell

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Zion Ali Denzel Campbell, who departed this life at the age of 18.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 12:00 Noon with viewing starting a 10:00 am at Greater Pleasant Green Baptist Church, 822 I.J. Joiner Drive, Abbeville, Louisiana. Pastor Midette Derouen will officiate.

Interment will follow in Greater Pleasant Green Baptist Church Cemetery.

Please join thre family immediately after the burial for a repast at The Starlight Event Center, 319 W. Woodman Rd., Abbeville, LA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Mount Triumph Missionary Baptist Church, 720 Mill Race Road, Boyce, Louisiana 71409. Public Viewing & Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Final committal rites and burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 2202 Military Highway, Pineville, Louisiana 71360.

She leaves her children, grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends to cherish her memory.
