🧠💚 Important Research for Families Affected by Lyme Disease

Many parents have shared concerns about changes in their child's mood, behavior, or mental health following Lyme disease. While these experiences have been reported for years, there has been very little large-scale research focused on children.

A new nationwide study, funded by the Global Lyme Alliance and led by Johns Hopkins University will examine whether Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses are linked to symptoms such as anxiety, depression, difficulty concentrating, behavioral changes, and PANS-like symptoms in children, teens, and young adults.

By analyzing medical records from hospitals across the country, researchers hope to provide clearer answers and improve early recognition and care. For families navigating the uncertainties of Lyme disease, research like this brings hope for greater understanding, earlier detection, and more effective support for children and teens.
