Keep this loop on repeat !

Stillness is rarely silent . Sometimes we are moving too quickly to hear it.

This is a great mindfulness exercise to do anywhere to help calm your nervous system. When we tune into gentle sounds around us, our attention shifts away from the noise of our thoughts and brings us into the present moment and our nervous system can begin to settle.

Save this rain audio on loop for later !

Today, experts from across the field came together to provide testimony to the FDA for the future of psychedelic medicine in the United States.

The FDA is accepting written comments through October 5! An exciting and important step toward thoughtful, safe, and responsible access to psychedelic medicine. ✨

Happy Nurses Week! I am Forever grateful for the path that led me to nursing and the privilege of walking alongside some of the most inspiring, compassionate healers and mentors . Nursing is rarely easy-—but it is deeply meaningful and endlessly rewarding.

and mental health?
Cooking is a sensory, grounding experience - ie chopping, smelling, and creating all the nuggets that bring you into the present moment.

Like mindfulness, it invites you to slow down, tune in, and focus without judgment. Even simple cooking can shift your mind away from stress and into calm, intentional action. It helps re route and into meaningful action .. And bonus if you can work in a snack or dish that is rooted in heritage for deeper meaning and connection 🇮🇹🍕

What are some of your favorite decompression recipes ?

It’s true -

Interacting with your dog can naturally increase serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin levels supporting mood, relaxation, and emotional regulation. At the same time, it helps lower cortisol (the body’s primary stress hormone
) reducing tension and easing feelings of loneliness- so snuggle up to your four legged furry pup and enjoy the small moments … It’s biologically therapeutic. 🐾

As a mental health provider, I often recommend simple, accessible ways to regulate the nervous system—and spending time at the .
The Zoo is one of my favorite “lifestyle prescriptions” for stress reduction@and it’s FREE!

Think of it as a gentle therapeutic intervention: here is how - walking outdoors around animals lowers cortisol, improves mood, and supports cognitive clarity. The combination of nature, movement, and observing animals creates a unique state of soft fascination and awe…. allowing the brain to rest from overthinking. This can be an easy way for anyone dealing with anxiety, burnout, or emotional overload.

There’s also a grounding effect in watching animals simply exist. It subtly reinforces a different pace of being, which can help recalibrate our own emotional regulation.

So here is your RX:
Schedule 60–90 minutes, leave your phone on silent, walk slowly, intentionally and observe. Let it be less about “doing” and more about being.

What a fulfilling experience.
What a privilege to welcome the Buddhist monks on their 2300 mile journey into DC. Such an inspiration of hope to witness the right here in my neighborhood.

I can’t help but speak up about this. As a fellow RN and a nurse-led practice, I cannot sit in silence while false narratives are being spread about this man and his character.

He is not a terrorist. The videos clearly show him trying to help. He was exercising his constitutional rights—peaceful protest and lawful firearm carry for which he was properly registered. This man dedicated his life to saving lives, including serving our nation’s veterans. He is not a Terrorist. He is not a radical .

Shame on those who choose to perpetuate efforts to slander his name.

We must stop the violence, stop the hate, and stand united, America.

To all my fellow nurses : thank you for your dedication, vigilance, and compassion for ALL your fellow humans. That is a gift. And what a tragedy that this nurse is no longer with us. It is truly heartbreaking .
