Long distance caregiving is stressful. Adult children of elderly loved ones living at a distance face the challenges of balancing their own life responsibilities while worrying that their parent is coping or all of their medical and social needs are being met. Whether a parent is living independently or is in a care facility, having a care manager involved to monitor their status, arrange for needed services, or be an advocate for them is so beneficial, and can ease some of that stress. In my practice, I strive to provide peace of mind to long distance caregivers, and be the "eyes and ears" that are so important. I see the difference it makes. Your family is worth it.
